Providence is calling a (Full Time/Day Shift) Registered Nurse Home Care Educator to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.

We are seeking an RN Education Specialist to work with our Home Care department in Torrance.
In this position you will:
- The Education Specialist serves as an educator, clinical expert, consultant and facilitator in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of educational activities, policies and evidence based patient care practices. These roles support the Mission Statement and Core Values of Providence Little Company of Mary. Responsible for the orientation program for newly hired employees, including education programs for all Home Health employees that promote professional growth, maintain employee satisfaction and enable the provision of patient care services of the highest quality. Responsible for the development and/or coordination of mandatory education programs, annual competencies, continuing education programs and web-based education programs. Also responsible for coordinating with the school faculty and Education department the clinical affiliation schedule of nursing students. Advisor to the Home Health Unit Based Council. The Education Specialist collaborates with the Leadership Team to implement Providence compliance requirements, accreditation standards and regulations. This individual has demonstrated knowledge in home health prospective payment system and comprehensive Outcome Assessment OASIS assessment.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California RN License
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association
Current California drivers License
BSN or BSN in progress is required
2 years experience in acute care or home care required
Minimum 1 year experience in didactic and clinical teaching required.
Requires the ability to work effectively independently and with a team
Requires ability to organize and prioritize work, completes assignments on time.
Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills to facilitate and manage change.
Requires ability to type and use a computer efficiently.
Requires fluent ability to understand oral and written English, including English text.
Requires a valid driver’s license with no excessive violations or accidents.
Requires maintaining the minimum state requirements for auto insurance.
Requires ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative working relationship with patients, families and coworkers.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
MSN is strongly preferred
Certification in OASIS preferred, or successful completion of certification within six months from date of hire.
